Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of seven members who contribute with their professional skills and their close contact with the art scene to the gallery’s work. The Board of Director governs and oversees all operations and programming of 1a space. The Board is formed of volunteer members of the art community that contribute with their expertise and skills to the needs of 1a space. The Board establishes the outlines of 1a spaces’ programme and direction and monitors that its goals are met.

The Board of Directors meets on regular intervals with staff to assess the gallery’s activities. The Executive Director reports directly to the board and is responsible for carrying out the programme. The Board gives directions and helps to secure funding for the gallery’s operation by acquisition of sponsors.

A Programme Committee, formed by members of the Board of Directors and the Gallery Manager reviews the annual activities, advises on content guidelines and curates the programme.

Head of Humanities and Professor of the Religion & Philosophy Department of Hong Kong Baptist University. Her academic research areas include Comparative Aesthetics, Feminist Aesthetics and Philosophy. She has published academic books in Philosophy and Aesthetics.
